Coming Events

May 24, 2010

Dear Families,
As you can see by the date on the headline, our school year is flying by and fast coming to a close! The past two weeks have been filled with testing for the state. Thank you for everything you’ve done to help make our students successful. Everyone really did their best and we’re all proud of the students’ effort.

We will start our last round this week and it only includes Grade 4. Those students will present the laboratory portion of Grade 4 Science on Wednesday. The written performance will be given on June 7. Again, the assessments are very important to marking your child’s progress. Please make every effort to make certain that they are rested, alert, focused and prepared. A letter informing you of the testing should have already been sent home. You also should have received student progress reports for the 35 weeks on Friday. Please contact us if you have not yet seen them.

I know that events and assemblies will come flying faster than I can keep with them. I will certainly keep writing and trying to keep you updated on everything at school. Just in case, though, I’m going to list everything I know of that’s taking place between now and the end of the year. I hope that will give you a little head start in preparing for our last few days together:

We will close out the month with our May assembly this Thursday, May 27. We will again recognize the contributions of those who demonstrate patriotism and service to country. Special invitations have been extended to our military families to participate. Since we are also observing Memorial Day, we ask our students, faculty and staff to wear red, white and blue. We will have no school in commemoration of Memorial Day on Friday, May 28, or Monday, May 31. Classes will resume Tuesday, June 1.

I will write again with more closing details as I receive them. Please don’t hesitate to call the office if you do have any questions before that time.
